'The Floor Sign Spotter's Companion' is a tiny, pocket sized, zine designed to inject some fun into your daily routines by introducing you to the hobby of 'Floor Sign Spotting'! This quirky and silly zine was created as part of an art project which created the hobby in imitation of other obsessions such as birdwatching and trainspotting. The zine folds out to reveal some hints and tips, floor sign facts, plus a checklist of scenarios in which you might find a floor sign - colour them in as you go.
Each zine measures approximately 85mm x 55mm, they have been designed and assembled by hand in my studio.

DANCE OF DEATH by Hans Holbein by Gyula Janka and Gyula Kardos (Kepzomuveszeti alap Kiadovallalata, Budapest, 1974. 146/1,000). Size: 2” x 2.25”. Seller’s Notes: “Black leather; White drumming skeleton on front with gilt title; gilt decorative borders on both covers; gilt spine. 218 pages…. features reprints of the detailed woodcuts of Hans Holbein the Younger, renowned German artist of the 16th century. Gyula Janka—an expert on miniature books in Hungary—founded the society, Hungarian Collectors of Miniature Books(Magyar Miniaturkonyv-Gyujtok: MMG) in 1970. He collaborated with Gyula Kardos to produce this exceptional book. The text is Hungarian, German, English, and Russian. // Hans Holbein the Younger (1497–1543), German renaissance artist and printmaker best known as one of the great portraitists of the 16th century, also made significant contributions to the history of book design. The Dance of Death or 'Le Danse Macabre' or 'la Danza de la Muerte' was an artistic response across Europe to the devastation brought about by the plague, otherwise known as Black Death. The original edition—published in Basle in 1538 with 41 engravings—served as the basis for this miniature edition.

Historic Boston, Lexington and Concord in Pen Drawings AND Tales of the Wayside Inn in Pen Drawings (2 volumes) by E. Helene Sherman (REM Miniatures, New Britain, Conn., 1975). Size: 1-1/2″ x 1-7/8″
2 volumes, 20 pp. each with lovely pen & ink drawings throughout of historic landmarks in Massachusetts. Historic Boston, Lexington and Concord is printed in blue ink and includes a 4-panel fold-out map of Paul Revere’s ride. Tales of the Wayside Inn is printed in red ink. Longfellow’s Wayside Inn is a historic landmark inn that is reputedly the oldest operating inn in the country. Each volume is pound in cloth boards with a printed label. Stiff paper sleeve holds both volumes. A limited edition of 500 copies.
E. Helene Sherman was a friend of Robert E. Massmann and illustrated several of his miniature books, including these. She was an artist who specialized in calligraphy and book illumination. She also published a few illuminated miniature manuscripts in small quantities under her own name. Massman bound all of them.
Sherman’s artwork includes altarpieces for the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. and St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City.

The artist cut out all commas from a book called "Livsens ondskab" ("The Wickedness of Life"). After using them all in an installation, she divided them into bags which she distributes to people who take an interest in her work.
Salmer by Kamilla Jorgensen (commas in an envelope). Size: 2.5" x 3.5"
The cigarette is real tobacco. However, the paper presents a psalm from the Danish book of Psalms (Kamilla is Danish). There are 791 psalms in the book and 39 cigarettes, each wrapped in a different psalm. The result looks like scrolls, but the idea of being able to smoke it--and the Psalm--poetically resonates for me.
