A nearly pristine copy, this fine Hillside Press publication explores the rich and enduring history of the Plantin press, which was in business in the same location in Antwerp for 300 years. It was purchased by the city of Antwerp and made into a museum in 1867.”

Seller's Notes: “Diminutive antique leather pocket notebook contains an itemized list, presumably by aunt Lottie, that begins with: "Notes on my Possessions" followed by seeming cherished items including her 'glass thimbles on my mantle piece' and things from her mother, etc. // One intriguing entry involves a 'green silk scarf' taken by her grandfather (a 'preventive man') from a 'smuggler' '...a stain of blood is... [visible?]...on it—someone has the other half." It certainly adds of bit of mystery to this unique piece.”
